Next up in my ongoing series on AO3 stats: a closer look at fanfic relationships. This time I’ve improved on my initial chart by:
- separating out all possible categories, so all categories displayed are mutually exclusive
- including a “No relationships” category, for fics that don’t have any relationship category marked (this excludes “Gen” as well – it’s really more like “No relationship category tags”)
- showing my work. :)
In the spreadsheet, “Other” is frequently shortened to “O” and “Multi” to “Mu.”
My initial AO3 post has gone a wee bit viral, but somewhere early on, my text explanation got chopped off. So this time I’m including the stats as an image.
Update: This post has been updated and archived on AO3. I’ve also done some stats and meta on femslash, why it’s scarce, and where to find it.
